“They taste like shrimp.” When it comes to food, I very rarely turn my nose up at any delicacy, no matter how different it may be from what I deem “normal.” This was certainly the case when I arrived at the nicely laid out food display while on my journey through the Botswana US Embassy in Washington, DC.

Before I had even finished what would presumably be the first of many meals at Se7en Bites, I was already contemplating my next visit. It was that good. If you know me or have followed my blog for awhile, this is very telling. When it comes to eating out, I have about 2-3 places that I have on my go-to list. But for the most part, I am a stick and move kind of girl. I am happy to admit that Se7en Bites and its vegetarian friendly menu has made it onto my “go-back” list.

I had an amazing time visiting with my parents during the Christmas holiday in Alexandria, VA. While we always have great food, I must say that our visit to DC’s Woodlands Vegan Bistro was my food highlight from my visit.
I love Thanksgiving just as much as any regular meat eater around. I just like it a little differently. While it is the perfect time to carve a turkey and dive into a plate of ham, for me, fish is the perfect dish to accompany my collard greens, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes, stuffing, and cranberry sauce.
