Eating Around the World, Eating Out Meat Free, Vegetarian

The Veggie Huevos Rancheros at Se7en Bites Made Me a Believer and a Super Fan

Before I had even finished what would presumably be the first of many meals at Se7en Bites, I was already contemplating my next visit. It was that good. If you know me or have followed my blog for awhile, this is very telling. When it comes to eating out, I have about 2-3 places that I have on my go-to list. But for the most part, I am a stick and move kind of girl. I am happy to admit that Se7en Bites and its vegetarian friendly menu has made it onto my “go-back” list.

Se7en Bites describes itself as “a sweet & savory bakeshop.” I wasn’t quite sure what this meant or what to expect especially concerning their savory side. Most reviews and blog posts really focused on their sweet treats, which by the way were amazing as I hope the pictures will clearly communicate. Even with really not knowing what kind of menu to expect, I woke up this past Sunday morning determined to stop being the last one to not have visited the bakeshop. Plus, I dragged my parents along with me for the adventure!

Located in the Milk District, it was beyond cool to see families riding up to the eatery on bicycles. This was cool to me because Orlando is such a spread out city that anything other than a personal vehicle will just take an exorbitant amount of time to get to a destination. I was still  a little concerned about what awaited me, until I saw the line and all of the people in the outside sitting area. Jackpot! From that point, I was certain that it would be a great food experience, and it certainly was.

As its tagline suggests, Se7en Bites offers up food for sweet lovers and savory lovers. For my first visit, I decided to try both. (I suggest you do the same.) We started with one of their huge cinnamon rolls, which looked like they had just been pulled from the oven. I told myself that I would only eat half of mine. I lied.

After a little nudge from the kind lady taking my order, I went for the Huevos Rancheros for my meal, which they were happy to transform into a vegetarian dish. I was really excited about this, because I wanted to try this dish for the longest! My Veggie Huevos Rancheros had two layers of corn tortillas with grits (yes!) and a black bean, corn, and olive mixture stuffed between each of them. On top was on over-easy egg, which wasn’t my cup of tea, but I worked with it. This was so good. The flavors mixed perfectly with each other, and the tortillas were just an awesome addition to the party.

The Se7en Bites weekend brunch menu has a variety of sweet and savory items that are definite crowd pleasers. The best part is that a number of dishes can be made vegetarian, just be sure to ask. Be sure to check out the pictures below for a look at my beyond amazing food adventure!
