If you have been following my blog, you already know that I am a total hash girl when it comes to breakfast. This was even before I kicked meat from my diet. Now that I only do veggies and fish, I am always on the lookout for a great veggie hash for breakfast. My recent visit to First Watch gave me one more hash to add to my list of loves!
Over the weekend, we celebrated my mom’s 60th birthday. After weeks of scheduling, meetings, contract reviews, and changes, it had finally come time to pop the bottles of champagne and party! The morning of the celebration, we decided to have a quiet breakfast at First Watch before all party broke loose.
It wasn’t my first time at “the daytime cafe.” It had long ago been added to our list of family approved breakfast places along with Cracker Barrel, and a few other locally-owned places. Nor was it my first time trying the Market Hash. It seems that no matter how many times I reason with myself to try something different, I seem to always find myself ordering the dish.
Here’s why I just can’t seem to get enough: the dish is compiled of seasoned potatoes, goat cheese, mushrooms, zucchini, red peppers, onions, and, of course, eggs. Now, I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m pretty sure that you can order the Market Hash sans eggs. To be honest, I ate around the eggs this go ’round. That’s how good the veggies and potatoes were all by themselves! Plus, the dish comes with a side of fruit (I had blackberries, honey dew, grapes, and pineapple this time.) and an English muffin.
This was such a great start to my busy day. If you find yourself with a group of meat eaters at First Watch, have no fear, there is a great vegetarian dish that awaits you, and its name is Market Hash.
