Eating Out Meat Free

My #NYC Weekend Adventure

By now, you are probably fully aware of my total and complete love of any and everything NYC! This weekend, in celebration of my mother’s 62nd birthday, my father and I surprised her to a weekend trip to the city complete with a Broadway show, great food, and a horseback ride. Check out my adventure below!

It all started at Washington, DC’s Union Station where we jumped on Amtrak and took a comfortable and very quick three hour ride to Penn Station. Did I mention that it was 3 am?!?!

At 6:30 am we arrived at Penn Station! It was our first time taking the train to NYC so we were a bit turned around, but we jumped on the train and high tailed it to our hotel where we did a quick change, then it was off to brunch!

By the time we made it to brunch at my what has become one of my favorite spots in Manhattan, The Smith, we had purchased our tickets to Wicked. No TKTS this time! According to like everyone, Wicked is way too popular to be a discounted show. No worries!

The Smoked Salmon toast was superb!

Then it was time for Wicked! The show was awesome, but sadly I really only have pictures of the outside of the theatre. No pics inside, although I was able to snag a few.

The next morning, we headed to Sunday brunch at a brand new spot in the West Village: Cafe Mogador, a Moroccan eatery known for its brunch. It was new and awesome!

It was so amazing to surprise my mom with an afternoon of horseback riding in Brooklyn! She was so not expecting it. It was very cold, but lots of fun!

Another great surprise: a 3-course dessert at Chickalicious in the East Village!

To say that I had a great time during my weekend in NYC would be an understatement! So many great and new experiences.
