When the craving for a burger hits, the last thing I want is a thin, card-board like veggie burger. Nope, although I’m not a fan of beef, I still like my veggie-packed burgers to be big and meaty. Thankfully, B&B Junction’s #18 gave me just what I was looking for.
Deciding to give B&B Junction a try was not an easy decision. When it comes to veggie burgers, actually any kind of burger, Central Florida has a number of options to choose from. For a while I had been toying with the idea of trying Red Robin; then there was Smashburger, a place that a colleague had raved about, and, of course, I had made plans to give BurgerFi one more go ’round. So what made me choose B&B on a chilly Forida Saturday? Two reasons: 1. I loved the whole farm to table thing they had going on. I wasn’t quite sure what it meant, but a bit of reading and I found this description on the website: “Our focus is on locally sourced, organic, and hormone free ingredients…” Loved it. and 2., which I deem the most important, from the looks of their website, they didn’t skimp on their burgers. Listen, I was HUNGRY that day and a small, wimpy burger was not going to cut it. So, I dived in, and, I must say, after my experience I can’t wait to take friends and family to experience B&B‘s meat-free and meat options.
So, here’s what I had: B&B has two veggie burgers, the numbers 17 and 18. For my first visit, I went with the #18. The veggie patty was topped with seasonal wild mushrooms, gruyere, truffle aioli, watercress, tomato, and, best of all, it was sandwiched between a whole wheat bun. WINNING! Plus, I ordered a side of portobello fries, which were the perfect alternative to regular fries.

The cilantro sour cream for my portobello fries did not have the in-your-face flavor that I was a little worried it would have. I was quite relieved.
