I know this is going to sound a bit dramatic and somewhat overboard, but I couldn’t think of a better way to describe my recent and, most importantly, first visit to Tako Cheena. Here goes: It was a mind blowing experience. Sure, anyone can put together a meatless, even vegan, burrito. But, the question is, can they infuse as much flavor into it as Tako Cheena does?
I love falafel sandwiches. So a few weeks ago, after remembering that I had scored a coupon for a free one from Hubbly Bubbly while attending Yelp’s Night at The Museum, I decided to treat myself to a weekday dinner out.
When the craving for a burger hits, the last thing I want is a thin, card-board like veggie burger. Nope, although I’m not a fan of beef, I still like my veggie-packed burgers to be big and meaty. Thankfully, B&B Junction’s #18 gave me just what I was looking for.
Black Bean Deli promised great Cuban food, and it delivered really good, flavorful food. Meat free AND vegan!
After passing by the shop day after day on my way home from work over the past few weeks, I decided to stop by Orlando’s newest vegan eatery to try a few items. I’m happy to say, that I am very glad that I did.
I spent an amazing afternoon playing in chocolate at Winter Park, Florida’s Peterbrooke Chocolatier! Although the locally-owned shop sells chocolate of all kinds, I had my eye on one in particular. The 72% Dark Chocolate, which just happens to also be vegan.
The title of this post is no exaggeration. I am not and have never been a “salad girl.” I think that they are a waste of stomach space to be quite honest. However, since my first visit to Designer Greens some months ago, I continue to find myself being pulled back in to their huge, awesomely garnished salads.
If you have been following my blog, you already know that I am a total hash girl when it comes to breakfast. This was even before I kicked meat from my diet. Now that I only do veggies and fish, I am always on the lookout for a great veggie hash for breakfast. My recent visit to First Watch gave me one more hash to add to my list of loves!
While my family ordered large dishes filled with beef and chicken, I was quite happy with my colorful plate of split peas, red lentils, collard greens, and cabbage.
BBQ pulled chicken sandwich, sausage roll, mac & cheese — these are a few of my favorite things. The best part is that at Ethos it’s all VEGAN!
Since kicking my meat habit, I’ve only visited The Cheesecake Factory maybe once or twice. On both occasions, I recall ordering a fish dish. On my most recent visit, with a few gift cards in hand, I decided to go completely vegetarian, and I lived to tell about it!
Food poisoning the day before gave me a great reason to treat myself to a mid-week dinner out. I chose TooJays for my meat-free meal, and I’m glad that I did.
For my last day off from work, I decided to treat myself to a little Paris flavor.

Over the Christmas holiday, I visited Del Ray Cafe for a Sunday brunch to remember.
I had an amazing time visiting with my parents during the Christmas holiday in Alexandria, VA. While we always have great food, I must say that our visit to DC’s Woodlands Vegan Bistro was my food highlight from my visit.
